Self-driving cars are the wave of the future. But, what does this new technology have to do with traffic safety? The lawyers at Feinberg & Alban PC recognize the value of these cars, not only to deliver a more convenient form of transportation, but also to significantly reduce accidents. Our firm was established more than 70 years ago to protect the rights of injury victims. We have two objectives in our practice: Help every client recover their rightful damages after an accident and stop accidents from happening in the future.
Boston has taken the lead in the self-driving vehicle market. This bold step conforms to Boston’s vision for:
We firmly believe that you should expect nothing short of this vision of zero from our city’s transportation system, which is why we support testing of autonomous vehicles.
Our city has committed to safe, efficient, effective transportation in the future. Autonomous vehicles offer:
We support workable ideas that can make life better for our clients and for Bostonians and visitors to our city. We also support technology that can reduce Boston auto accidents and make the roads safer for our clients.
Boston announced its plans to allow testing of self-driving vehicles on city streets. What does this mean in a practical sense? Boston has adopted a graduated approach to testing to ensure the safety of residents, tourists and property. Current testing is restricted in time, place and manner of testing. For example, the vehicles are only permitted on roadways during daylight hours and in good weather and are restricted to Boston’s Innovation District Flynn Marine Park, Seaport and Fort Point Streets. The city will expand these parameters once developers prove the safety of their self-driving vehicles.
Our lawyers look forward to the day when self-driving vehicles can make accidents rare. However, universal use of this technology is many years away. In the meantime, we continue to represent people injured by negligent drivers.
Feinberg & Alban PC is excited about self-driving technology that can reduce accidents in Boston. As of now, human error remains the primary cause of crashes.
