Lawyers Representing Victims of Boston Traffic Fatalities

Mayor Marty Walsh said, “Driving, walking or riding a bike on Boston’s streets should not be a test of courage.” At Feinberg & Alban PC, we agree and have dedicated our lives to finding solutions to Boston’s accident risks. Founded more than 70 years ago, our law firm is fully committed to improving our city and protecting its residents and guests. If your loved one was killed in a car crash, our firm has the determination, experience and compassion to help you and your family during this difficult time.

2016 Vision Zero Progress Report reflects continued safety problems in Boston

According to the Massachusetts Vision Zero Coalition, traffic deaths have increased across the country and in Boston. In 2015, bicyclist deaths went up 13 percent and pedestrian deaths rose by 10 percent over the prior year. Nationwide, 35,200 people died in traffic accidents, which constituted an increase of 7.7 percent from 2014 and represented the highest traffic death rate since 2008. Boston auto accidents caused the deaths of 12 pedestrians and five motorists in 2016.

Considering the substantial advancements in safety innovations, these statistics should be going down, not up. However, distracted driving, drunk driving, aggressive driving, speeding and tailgating continue to be major factors in auto crashes. While working to eliminate the causes of auto accidents, our firm holds negligent drivers accountable for their conduct.

High rate of pedestrian and cyclist accidents continues in 2017

Boston is known as “America’s Walking City” because of Bostonians’ habit of walking everywhere in our compact, beautiful city. This appealing reputation makes the high number of pedestrian deaths all the more frustrating.

A number of pedestrians and cyclists have been killed or seriously injured in the first few months of 2017. In fact, nine pedestrians were hit by cars in just one day on January 17, and one of those pedestrians was in a wheelchair.

Not long after, a 29-year-old cyclist was killed in a hit-and-run accident. The death of this avid biker, who rode for pleasure and as part of his job as a bike messenger, raised awareness of the need for better bicycle infrastructure. As part of the Vision Zero program, the city plans to investigate the intersection where the young cyclist was killed.

You should not feel unsafe when you walk or bike in Boston. Our lawyers take a two-pronged approach. First, we advocate for better road conditions for pedestrians and cyclists. Second, we protect your rights if you are hit by a car.
